A very mild autumn day with the usual unpredictable British weather is what we were presented with for Victoria & James’s wedding day at the start of October in Levens, Cumbria.
The gods were shining on them and half an hour before their wedding ceremony, the sun broke through and the blue skies made an appearance bang on cue.
The boys started their journey in the nearby pub for a couple of drinks to settle the nerves before they headed up the hill for the short walk to St. John the Evangelist church in the small village of Levens. The bride looked amazing in a flowing white dress, with the brides maids wearing deep purple.
I was doing double duty for this wedding as a photographer and also a guest. The service took place at 1:00pm followed by a reception at The Netherwood Hotel in Grange-over-Sands.
This imposing building afforded some great group photo opportunities in the grounds and the whole was thoroughly enjoyable. The speeches were made before the wedding breakfast and got lots of laughs from the guests. After a delicious meal, the bride and groom kicked off the celebrations with their first dance, before partying into the small hours.
